In the very first “Short Trek”, Tilly meets an alien runaway with whom she has a lot in common! Clay and I discuss the franchise dipping its toes into the realm of the short story, and whether or not the series and Discovery, in particular, is up to the task. Would the single-minded focus and limited run time allow us to hone in on particular characters personality, or would it simply be a normal Discovery episode compacted into a shorter runtime?
