The Dominion continue to send fleets of J’em Hadar ships into the Alpha Quadrant. Captain Sisko, in a desperate attempt to keep things from escalating, decides to mine the entrance of the Bajoran Wormhole. A larger conflict follows as Deep Space 9 is captured by Dominion and Cardassian forces, sending refugees to Bajor and causing all Starfleet personnel to evacuate the station. The Dominion War starts as the fifth season of DS9 comes to a close!
The Dominion War is one of the most famous story lines to emerge from DS9, and Call to Arms is a spectacular action set-piece that both reuses a lot of stock footage (…) and couches its action in the characterization (!) that we’ve come to appreciate over these past five seasons.
