Sisko and Kasidy, in defiance of the Prophets, marry one another. It may lead to a lifetime of sorrow for Ben Sisko, but he is willing to take the chance and live his life as his own person. In the meantime, Worf and Ezri are held aboard a Breen ship. They are repeatedly interrogated and begin to spill their secrets while they dream. “‘Til Death Do Us Part” is the second hour of the Final Chapter but it mostly continues the adventures from “Penumbra“.
The new kink in the story deals with Dukat. He has undergone surgery to appear as a Bajoran and arrives at Deep Space 9. He seeks out Kai Winn, who has rather coincidentally had a vision from the Prophets that tells her to be on the lookout for someone like Dukat. The two meet and Dukat begins to ply Winn’s mind with stories of amazing coincidence and miraculous endings. Dukat becomes his slimiest self as he works to manipulate the Kai of Bajor to his own nefarious ends.
The other stories mostly continue from the previous episode. Sisko and Kasidy, together, signals the end of the series but we also know that the story continues. Worf and Ezri manage their time-delayed relationship drama by bickering. All the while under the watchful eye of the Breen.
As the episode wraps up, we learn that the Breen and the Dominion have formed an alliance. Just ignore the fact that we’ve barely ever seen the Breen before. The Breen are a powerful force! Just ask the Klingons.
In this podcast, Wes and Clay discuss “‘Til Death Do Us Part”. They try to make sense of the trio of story lines that the series has decided to pursue. While a never ending sequence of relationship drama is cool and all… what are Bashir and O’Brien up to?
