She is quickly rescued, but sci-fi rules prevent her from escaping unscathed – she has aged to 18 years-old and has spent the past decade living alone on a barren alien landscape. She is now feral, prefers to sleep in trees, and solves conflict with sharp objects!
Meanwhile, Worf is eager to prove to Dax that he is capable of raising a child (and that Alexander was just an unfortunate one-off mistake). While the O’Briens tend to Old Molly, Worf agrees to care for the infant O’Brien, Kirayoshi. But he soon begins to doubt himself as even a proud Klingon warrior sometimes allows a baby to bump their head. Does he have what it takes to build a family with Dax?
Time’s Orphan continues to slide the end of the sixth season into a dark abyss. It’s an episode that doesn’t really seem to be about anything and reverts back to one of DS9’s weaknesses: the science fiction episode with no character stakes.
The O’Briens have hardly been one of the show’s successes, and an episode focusing on their pain and suffering lacks the charm that the main cast actors have developed. Insert into this stew a semi-mute character who likes to stab people, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.
Wes and Clay spend some time analyzing the end of the sixth season, and try to determine if they’d rather have a season of highs and lows or a season of neither!
Plus! The guys discuss the seething hatred that lives within the O’Brien family, the fine line between silly and acceptable, and the comedy of Worf as a parent![/et_pb_text][et_pb_social_media_follow use_icon_font_size=”on” icon_font_size=”22px” _builder_version=”3.26.6″ border_width_all=”3px” border_color_all=”#aaaaaa” text_orientation=”center” _i=”2″ _address=”0.2.1.2″][et_pb_social_media_follow_network social_network=”facebook” _builder_version=”3.24.1″ background_color=”#3b5998″ follow_button=”off” url_new_window=”on” _i=”0″ _address=”0.2.1.2.0″]facebook[/et_pb_social_media_follow_network][et_pb_social_media_follow_network social_network=”twitter” _builder_version=”3.24.1″ background_color=”#00aced” follow_button=”off” url_new_window=”on” _i=”1″ _address=”0.2.1.2.1″]twitter[/et_pb_social_media_follow_network][et_pb_social_media_follow_network social_network=”youtube” url=”https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRUQ6GnjEtxm1vcvVw0t7HA” _builder_version=”3.24.1″ background_color=”#a82400″ follow_button=”off” url_new_window=”on” _i=”2″ _address=”0.2.1.2.2″]youtube[/et_pb_social_media_follow_network][/et_pb_social_media_follow][et_pb_ads_agsdcm _builder_version=”3.24.1″ show_rating=”off” _i=”3″ _address=”0.2.1.3″][/et_pb_ads_agsdcm][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_3,1_3,1_3″ _builder_version=”3.25″ width=”40%” width_last_edited=”on|desktop” _i=”3″ _address=”0.3″][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||” _i=”0″ _address=”0.3.0″][et_pb_image src=”https://thepenskypodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Discord-Featured-796×417.jpg” url=”https://discord.gg/yGzFJTk” url_new_window=”on” _builder_version=”3.26.6″ border_radii=”on|15px|15px|15px|15px” border_width_all=”3px” border_color_all=”#aaaaaa” _i=”0″ _address=”0.3.0.0″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||” _i=”1″ _address=”0.3.1″][et_pb_image src=”https://thepenskypodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/teespring-og-image-rebranded-1.jpg” url=”https://teespring.com/stores/the-pensky-file” url_new_window=”on” _builder_version=”3.24.1″ border_radii=”on|15px|15px|15px|15px” border_width_all=”3px” border_color_all=”#aaaaaa” _i=”0″ _address=”0.3.1.0″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||” _i=”2″ _address=”0.3.2″][et_pb_image src=”https://thepenskypodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/paypal-logo1.jpg” url=”http://paypal.me/thepenskyfile” url_new_window=”on” _builder_version=”3.24.1″ border_radii=”on|15px|15px|15px|15px” border_width_all=”3px” border_color_all=”#aaaaaa” _i=”0″ _address=”0.3.2.0″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
