Georgiou uncovers the true depths of the plot against her, leading her to a revelation about how deeply her time on the USS Discovery truly changed her. “Terra Firma, Part II” brings our most recent adventure in the Mirror Universe to a close.

“Terra Firma, Part II” spends most of its time in the Mirror Universe as it continues to examine the return of Emperor Georgiou and what her time in the Prime Universe has meant to her. Georgiou has uncovered a plot against her. Michael Burnham (of the Mirror Universe) has been caught red-handed attempting a coup. Georgiou is of conflicting feelings – she has spent enough time in the Prime Universe to know that killing is wrong, so she decides to go with a half measure and simply torture Burnham for a little bit.

After endless sessions in the Agony Booth, Mirror Burnham begins to crack. She is hungry. She can’t go on. Mirror Detmer gives her a pep talk that devolves into the light suggestion to surrender. Eventually, Mirror Burnham relents and agrees to help Georgiou. Burnham assist with the exposure and murder of her former accomplices, taking their blood stained comm badges as trophies.

All seems to be right in the Mirror Universe. At least as right as it can be. Georgiou and Burnham have some dinner and drinks and Georgiou reveals that her conception of what is just and fair has changed.

After the Mirror Discovery tracks down one of Burnham’s final co-conspirators, Burnham springs a trap and reveals that it’s all been a long con. She and Georgiou battle it out with kung-fu until Burnham dies.

Georgiou is immediately transported back to Carl and (original) Michael Burnham. Carl reveals himself to be a Guardian of Forever and says that Georgiou passed his test – she tried to be a decent person for a few minutes. Georgiou says goodbye to Michael and steps into the time portal to end up somewhere where she will have her own Star Trek series and not be in immediate danger of time death.
